Richard Farrelly

Richard Farrelly, Past President (2002-2003) Navan Rotary Club, has recently completed a course with Meath Partnership on tourism business in Meath.

This course will enable Richard to become a tourism provider and tour guide. Richard has been interested in local history and in particular, the history of Kilmessan for many years. He is also a collector of historical artefacts and memorabilia. Richard is very passionate about the history, culture and heritage of his county, and living in Meath (the Royal County), there is no shortage of historic sites and monuments.

He is also chairman and a founder member of the Navan & District Historical Society, which has produced a number of publications on local history and frequently present talks on a number of topics throughout the year. (www.navanhistory.ie)

To coin a phrase “Richard is a fountain of historical knowledge” and the hope is, that someday he will sit down long enough to write down some of his knowledge.

Richard is also a member of the Navan Anglers Association and could talk about fishing until the cows come home, maybe that should read until the fish come home?.
