NAVAN ROTARY marks Thirty Fifth Anniversary

This week the Rotary Club of Navan celebrated its 35th Anniversary on its annual Presidents night. President Sean Lynch said that he was very honored to be President on such an auspicious occasion. Local Club history was reviewed by the MC for the night, Rtn. Eugene Craughan and a slide show commemorating the past thirty five years was presented by Rtn. James Carney, club photographer. The MC recalled how the club was founded in 1979 by the late Dr. Michael Hayes.

The district Governor of District 1160 (Ireland) Verity Swan, complimented the Club on all its achievements down through the years and commented that the Club was a shining example for all Rotarians in the country.

The Club is very fortunate to have a number of Founder and charter members still active in today’s club, Fred Kenny, Joe Keappock, William O’Brien-Lynch, Eugene Collins, Fir Oakes, all of whom helped to cut the special cake baked by Rotarian Sandra Earl.
