Rotary in Ireland welcomes president of Rotary International

Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland were delighted to welcome Peter Davey to Ireland as the President for the year of 2015/16. The gathering took place in the Royal Irish Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire in May 2016.

As a member of Rotary since 1988, Peter has fulfilled a number of high profile roles including Training Leader at two international assemblies in San Diego, RI President Representative at three district conferences and District Governor of District 1100 in 2007/08.

He is a member of the Rotary Club of Monmouth and his professional background is in banking where he was the Deputy Regional Director and Area Manager for NatWest in Wales. Later he worked in Independent education finance with the Woodard Corporation who elected him a Corporate Fellow on his retirement. He was, at one time, Chairman of the British Institute of Management Yeovil and District.

Peter believes that Rotarians make a huge difference to those in need, and his priority as President will be to ensure that clubs receive the support and encouragement required to become an even stronger, more vibrant group delivering even more humanitarian service and enhancing the wider public image.
