Eleanor on her way to the European Parliament

Youth Leadership Regional Final 2017 a huge success.

The District Governors Representative, Elaine McWilliams was very complimentary to the Navan Rotary Club on their hosting of the Youth Leadership Regional Final.

The event itself epitomized another demonstration of great team participation from the Rotary Club of Navan, from every angle; organisation, the food supplied, teas, ushers, photography, the panel of interviewers, it all ran very smoothly. The location was ideal . Spacious with adequate facilities and in the Centre of the Navan town. There were a total of 10 clubs competing; six from Northern Ireland and four from Leinster, There was a very relaxed atmosphere between the candidates and family and club representatives. The candidates were confident and delighted to have succeeded in representing their respective club and school for the Regional Final.

When the time came for the announcement of the three Club winners, who would travel to Strasbourg, everyone was bursting with excitement and anticipation The winners names were quickly followed by quiet bursts of victory from the representing clubs and family members. Not to mention the beaming faces of the winners; most notably Rotary Club of Navan Winner Eleanor Murchan!

Eleanor is a fifth year student at St. Michaelís Loreto Secondary School in Navan, who collected the top honour in the Rotary Club of Navan Youth Leadership Development Competition recently, and qualified as one of the regional finalists and was over the moon with her achievement. It was a great honour, and a big surprise to have been chosen, said Eleanor,
